For Survivors & Caregivers

Support for Life After Treatment

You’re Not Alone

If you’ve been through testicular cancer, or supported someone who has, you know that life doesn’t just go back to normal once treatment ends.

Many young people feel a mix of relief, exhaustion, worry, and even confusion about what comes next. That’s completely normal.

TRANSCEND-XR is here to help you feel supported, understood, and more in control as you move forward.

TRANSCEND-XR | Helping Young Testicular Cancer Survivors Reclaim Life After Treatment

What Happens After Treatment?

Even when the cancer is gone, the physical, emotional and social effects can linger.

You might:

  • Feel tired or low on energy
  • Worry about fertility or relationships
  • Feel anxious, angry, or unsure of yourself
  • Find it hard to explain how you’re feeling to others

These experiences are common. But many survivors say they didn’t expect them and didn’t know where to turn for support.

How TRANSCEND-XR Can Help

TRANSCEND-XR is a new kind of support project. We’re building a digital tool using extended reality (XR), the same technology behind virtual reality, to help survivors understand and manage life after cancer.

It’s not a medical treatment. It’s a safe, private, and interactive way to:

  • Learn more about what your body and mind may go through
  • Hear from others who’ve been where you are
  • Discover tools and tips to help you cope and grow
  • Get support not just for you but for your family, too

Support for Caregivers and Parents

If you’re a parent, partner, or friend, you may also be feeling uncertain. You want to help but you might not know how.

TRANSCEND-XR will include guidance and resources for caregivers too, so you can better understand what your loved one is facing and how to be there for them.

Co-Created With Survivors Like You

This isn’t just a research project. It’s being built with the input of young men who’ve lived through testicular cancer. They’re helping shape what the tool looks like, what topics it covers, and how it can really make a difference.

We believe the people who’ve lived it know best, and their voices are at the heart of this project.

Join TRANSCEND-XR World Cafés

Help shape support for life after testicular cancer!

If you’re aged 18–39 and have finished treatment for testicular cancer, or if you supported someone through it, we invite you to join one of our World Café conversations.

They’re a chance to talk about what recovery has looked like for you — the good moments, the difficult ones, and everything in between — and to help us design a new digital tool that will support young survivors across Europe.

Your voice is important.

Your experiences can make a real difference for future survivors.

Who can participate?

You can join if you are:

  • 18–39 years old; and
  • Have completed treatment in the last 10 years, or:
  • Are a family member or loved one of someone in this age group who has finished treatment.

We are currently recruiting participants living in: Ireland, the UK, France, Croatia, Slovakia, the Netherlands, and Italy.

As a thank-you for your time, we offer a €20 voucher per session.
